ISIS is the latest PR stunt for the “War on Terror”

Does anyone remember that nasty horrible terrorist group, Al Qaeda? Sure, some people have a foggy recollection of that group, but most are sure it died when Navy SEALS put some much needed lead into Osama Bin Laden. Unfortunately that left the Neocons and big government guys trying to peddle their “security for freedom” wares again with a problem. If people truly perceive that terrorism is shrinking in the world they won’t have the stomach to go back into Iraq or swallow another “anti-terror” legislation pill.

We already have given up so much freedom that we will never see again. We live in a surveillance state where the government watches everything we do all in the name of “protecting” us from those bad terrorists. What these peddlers of anti-freedom needed was a new sexy sounding threat to scare the American people back into Iraq and willingly accepting even more freedom robbing legislation. Enter ISIS. Doesn’t the name just sound ominous? This is just what the spin doctors ordered. They sound really bad and with every news agency in the country pushing stories out daily and the Internet exploding with stories of them beheading Christians and journalists and others they have created the new “bad guys” ta da!

As Ron Paul states in this article the Neocons are screaming for blood again, the Fed is salivating at the prospect of being able to turn the printing presses back on to full speed to fund another war against another horrible sounding, but this time faceless, terrorist organization. No doubt some additional freedom robbing legislation is sitting in a drawer somewhere in D.C. ready to pull out at just the right time to shove it down our throats again when the right news story breaks.

If Americans buy this again, they are truly fools. This is nothing but another PR campaign to sell us another “solution” in search of a problem for a country we should have never been in, will never bring peace to, and will ultimately be back under another new dictator again very soon. I am not convinced people in the Middle East actually want peace or can live together in peace. However even if I am wrong, the bottom line is, it is their problem and they need to figure it out. We can’t force a solution on them. Nor should we try.

We also can’t be jumping at our shadow every time a new and improved terrorist group is peddled to us by the freedom hating war mongers in Congress. Enough is a enough. Stop believing what these people keep trying to sell. Think for yourself and take your own security into your own hands. Stop thinking these idiots are going to sell you a solution that will work. It won’t. If you truly want personal protection you need to make it for yourself.

Own a gun
Learn how to use it
Get some training
Be aware of your surroundings
Set up your house with some common sense security measures
Have some supplies stored up
Build a family response plan to an emergency
Know your neighbors and community

In other words be THE solution; don’t allow someone else to be your security blanket. What they offer will only give you a false sense of security while quietly erasing more of our precious freedom and wasting more money chasing shadows. I don’t depend on anyone else for my personal security and you shouldn’t either. Step up and do it yourself and put a stop to the “terror is everywhere” hustlers in Congress.

Simply Disobey the State – Civil Disobedience

There is an interesting article today on Lew Rockwell about Anarcho Calisthenics. The premise of the article is rather than hold an outright revolution, which usually results in a worse regime than the one that was removed coming to power, instead simply stop following the dictates of the state. He further goes on to say these don’t have to be big acts of defiance, they could be small ones, but exercised by thousands or even millions will reek havoc on state machinery.

Here in the U.S. we have a fine tradition of simply disobeying the state when they have crossed the line. From the Revolutionary War to Henry David Thoreau to modern times we have been a defiant people. It is happening right now in Connecticut with the latest unconstitutional anti gun laws by potentially thousands of people. You see the dirty secret is we the people outnumber the politicians and their thugs by considerable numbers, but people forget that. They need you to just go along and follow their laws for the power to exist.

The reality is despite the number of police, prisons, and laws that exist they simply don’t have enough of them to force every citizen to comply with every law, every minute, of every day. Instead if you don’t voluntarily do it they simply can’t stop everyone. Yes, they can stop some and they do. Unfortunately for those they do stop they usually try and destroy them completely so as to set an example for the rest of the defiant people, but in the end they will still not be able to do that to everyone.

In Connecticut right now the politicians are besides themselves over this latest gun law. They fully expected everyone to simply fall into line and march over the cliff like good little lemmings when this law was passed. It simply never occurred to them that a huge majority of people would simply hold up their collective middle fingers and ignore the laws. These people called their bluff.

Now there are thousands of people who are felons according to the law. Some of them will get caught and the state will crush them with a zeal unlike we have seen before. They will do this for two reasons, one out of sheer anger that so many others have defied them and hopefully to set an example and bring the rest of the herd back into compliance with the state.

This will not work. The harder the state tries to crush them the more evasive and careful people will be to not get caught. Some still will and that is the nature of any war, there are always casualties. The truth is nobody wants to be that casualty, but some will be. However all will live under tyranny or some will fight and some will lose, but in the end the state and their tyranny loving politicians are the real losers. Here is a quote from the Hartford Courant that proves the point…

“I honestly thought from my own standpoint that the vast majority would register,” said Sen. Tony Guglielmo, R-Stafford, the ranking GOP senator on the legislature’s public safety committee. “If you pass laws that people have no respect for and they don’t follow them, then you have a real problem.”

This guy simply doesn’t know what to do now that so many people have simply withdrawn their consent to be tyrannized by an out of control state. However this is not enough. People need to be defiant on a range of things every single day across the entire nation.

Here are some things to consider before embarking on this…

  • Make sure you are willing to “do the time” for whatever rule you are breaking if you are that person who is caught and made an example of. In other words are you William Wallace?

  • Don’t wave flags, banners, or god forbid place your civil disobedience on social media for the world to see. Don’t be stupid. If you tell the state you have withdrawn your consent you will be visited by door kicking thugs in the middle of the night.

  • Be quiet, smart, and careful. Think Walter White from Breaking Bad. He hid in plain sight and didn’t let the world know what he was doing.

  • Don’t post things on social media or tell the world you disagree with the state, at least, not loudly. Such people end up becoming part of a small group of people to “watch” by the state. Rather think needle in the haystack.

  • Make it as hard as possible for the state to see you as anything other than another compliant little lemming co towing to their infinite power, but in reality you are not anything of the sort.

Understand, I am not suggesting you go out and start a career of crime here, although in reality most people commit an average of 3 felonies everyday right now and don’t know it.

I am suggesting you simply withdraw your consent to allow yourself to be placed under the tyranny of the state for every little stupid regulation and law they can dream up, but in the end don’t actually have the power to enforce against everyone. Exercise this freedom regularly. It actually feels good.

The Hunger Games – Conservative or Liberal

I was listening to a recent discussion about the movie The Hunger Games and discussing if the government and society portrayed in the movie was right or left. Conservative, Liberal, or Socialist. The discussion was fascinating because people who are liberal claimed it was a conservative government and conservatives were sure it was a liberal or socialist government and society. Both groups cited various scenes in the movie to back up their points and were sure they were right.

The truth is, both groups were wrong. The government and capital portrayed in the movie is neither right or left. It is totalitarian in nature. The interesting thing is totalitarian governments can be either right or left, conservative, fascists or socialist. It really doesn’t matter what the underlying philosophy is at some point in world history there has been a totalitarian government that matched all of these philosophies.

The one common element in all totalitarian governments regardless of underlying philosophies is total control of the people. This is generally brought about by surveillance of the people such as portrayed in the book 1984 by George Orwell as well as brutality as showing in both Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia. In all totalitarian governments there is always a favored group whose leader is generally in charge. They get special freedoms, privileges and access. In truth it is often this privileged group that insures the leader stays in power.

The other commons theme regardless of what type of government philosophy it is, i.e. right or left is that the government is too big and too powerful and simply too abusive. The fact that people who watch this movie and see “the other side” in that government shows they are completely missing the point.

When Republicans (not the same as conservatives) are in charge they grow the government and make it bigger and more intrusive. Under Bush II we got the lovely (un)Patroit Act which really put us on the road to that total surveillance state that is a component of totalitarian governments. Under Obama we have had huge freedoms stripped away from our economic lives, healthcare, and many other areas, plus he did absolutely nothing to remove or get rid of the hated Patriot Act, in fact, he signed bills that made it far worse by suspending Habeaus Corpus among other things.

So people who vote for the Republicans because they think the liberals will create a world like The Hunger Games have missed the point entirely and it cost them a chunk of their freedom. Those that thought Obama was a huge improvement over Bush because he was supposedly the “anti-Bush” were wrong and have given up even more of their precious freedom and moved us even closer to that totalitarian government. Each election both sides accuse the other of doing this or that, but both grow government and make it more powerful and more intrusive. Neither side ever shrinks it and with each election and year that goes by the noose tightens a little more.

Most people don’t feel this noose tightening accept when “the other guy” or “other team” is in charge. When “their guy” is in charge they basically give them a pass and say carry on. That is the critical mistake. With each government both sides are losing freedom, but they simply don’t seem to see it. That is why both sides are sure it is “the other guy” who must be in charge when a world like The Hunger Games is finally here.

The only way to insure a world like The Hunger Games never comes to pass for either group is to quit allowing yourself to be constantly duped and focus on the one and only group who will SHRINK the ENTIRE government and remove them from your lives. Not the group that will shrink just the part you don’t like, but in total.

If you don’t vote for a government that will TOTALLY remove government size and control from EVERYONE then you are simply helping create a totalitarian government. That big totalitarian government is used against you no matter who runs it. You perceive that the use against you is more tolerable when it is YOUR guy who is using it against you instead of the OTHER guy, but the reality is both are removing your freedom, it is simply a matter of WHICH freedom you happen to be giving up today.

Eventually what will happen is we will continue to keep playing musical chairs at each election and each time the government gets more and more powerful and rips away more and more freedom from EVERYONE. At some point the music will stop. A totalitarian government will exist. The Hunger Games will no longer be non-fiction. Are you willing to risk that the coin toss of who is sitting in that chair of power when the music stops is YOUR guy and YOU will be safe? If you are you are a fool.

I vote Libertarian because I don’t want to be wrong. I want to insure I always keep my freedom. Do I agree with every stance the Libertarian party takes? Absolutely not, but the one thing we agree on no matter what is that neither of us wants to live in a totalitarian regime. I want to know that MY GUY is ALWAYS trying to make government less powerful and less totalitarian. Are you willing to do the same?

Dan Malloy, Governor of Connecticut, Violates Civil Rights!

In a recent news conference in Connecticut, Governor Dan Malloy remarked to people objecting to his draconian gun control bill rammed through in 2013 by saying “your side lost”. You can see the actual video below. the comment occurs around the 4:46 mark.

Dan Malloy is a tyrant and not fit to be a dog catcher much less a Governor or god forbid the President. He clearly has no respect for the civil rights of law abiding Americans. In fact, this law of his has turned tens of thousands of law abiding citizens into felons with a stroke of a pen! Before the law they were perfectly legal to own and NOT register their legally owned property after the law they are felons if they don’t comply.

His comment of “your side lost” clearly shows his contempt for human rights and civil liberties as well as his absolute ignorance of the Constitution.

A right is something we are born with and is not granted by government nor is it subject to a vote where majority rules and therefore can be stripped away. The ONLY function of government is to PROTECT rights! Not grant them. Not vote them away.

The fact that Malloy claims that the law is perfectly Constitutional because one of the courts packed with equally Constitutionally ignorant judges with no knowledge of history doesn’t somehow make this OK.

Liberals and socialists like Malloy have a long history of denying people their civil rights simply because they don’t like them or more likely because those rights interfere with their socialist plans for society. At the same time they fail to protect enumerated rights actually written down in the Constitution. On the flip side they seem to be able to invent or create new rights like Healthcare, housing and welfare rights out of thin air.

His actions have now endangered the lives of citizens and police officers as he has set up a veritable powder keg in Connecticut when he tries to enforce his unconstitutional laws. People are going to end up getting killed when police are ordered to start kicking in doors to enforce this heinous law. The blood of those people will sit squarely on the shoulders of Malloy. Hey, Malloy, I wonder how well this will work for your Presidential aspirations!

Tyrants always believe that as long as they somehow lend an air of legitimacy to their actions, like a vote, that it somehow makes their actions OK, but let’s see if that is true when people across the nation start seeing police officers being killed trying to enforce this law and families that lose fathers, mothers, sons and daughters to the same police and blood truly is running in the streets.

Well, Malloy when you decide to order your storm troopers to start kicking in doors and dragging people off to prison for exercising one of their enumerated civil liberties a quote comes to mind… “things are about to get interesting”.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein Objects to CIA Spying on Congress

The Wall Street Journal just reported a remarkable story about a possible CIA spy operation performed on Congress. Of course the CIA is denying that they did anything like this, but I think if real facts can ever be dug up on this a different story will emerge.

However whether the CIA did or did not spy on Congress is not what is so remarkable about this story. Not by a long shot. What I find remarkable is Feinstein’s reaction to this possible scandal. She is quite upset and claims that if this was done it violates The Constitution’s Separation of Powers. Here is her exact quote…

“I have grave concerns that the CIA’s search may well have violated the separation-of-powers principles embodied in the U.S. Constitution”

That is what is so remarkable about this story. I love when tyrants like Diane Feinstein who wouldn’t know what The Constitution was if it was shoved in her face, unless the violations are against her or Congress!

This is the same women who is completely befuddled by the simple language in The Constitution especially The Bill of Rights and more specifically the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Amendments have proven particularly vexing to her reading skills, but let HER RIGHTS be violated and she is suddenly up in arms and quoting The Constitution like it was the greatest document ever created.

This is the most hypocritical thing I have seen in at least a week today coming out of Congress. The NSA has been violating the privacy and rights of Americans for YEARS and this women hasn’t whispered a peep about that, but let those violations occur against her and the other tyrants in Congress and suddenly she has a new found appreciation for The Constitution or at least a part of it as it applies to her.

The real story here is if she shows ANY consistency here and pursues this battle when it comes to OUR rights against their spying. I would not hold my breath waiting for that.

Tim Phillips of Global Post is Wrong about Gun Control

Tim Phillips of Global Post just posted an article advocating a solution to the gun control debate that has been going on for over a year now.  In reality this debate has been going on for the last 45+ years, since 1968 and some would argue back as far as 1934.  While I give him credit for his approach I believe he is missing the point on the issue.

The issue has never been about guns as much as it is about politics and control.  Take the proposed law from last spring to extend background checks to all private sales at gun shows that failed to pass.  As has been pointed out before this bill if it had been in effect for the past 10 years would have done NOTHING to stop almost all the mass shootings and certainly all the most recent ones going back 3-4 years.  Why?  Because in everyone one of those situations the shooters either passed the background checks or stole the guns.  In either cases the law would have done nothing to prevent them.  Yet, they pushed it just the same.  Why… because of politics and control.

Now, take the proposal by the NRA of adding people into schools who are armed and can provide a response to a mass shooter.  This could come in the form of an armed resource officer or an armed citizen who volunteers.  When the NRA suggested this they were ridiculed and dismissed immediately out of hand by every gun grabbing politician and “main stream” news organization.  Yet, this isn’t just some off the wall suggestion, this actual policy has been in place in Israel since 1976 and they haven’t had a SINGLE school shooting since then!

Why was the NRA policy so quickly dismissed?  Because the politicians and gun grabbers are more interested in politics and control than actually solving the problem.  The vast majority of the politicians that advocate for these bans have no interest in solving the actual issue.  They don’t even write or read the bill, rather they let some anti-gun lobbyist write the bill and then go push it like a good little dog.  They don’t understand what they are evening proposing.  This has been proven over and over again, most recently with the Colorado legislator that didn’t understand the difference between a clip and a magazine, but was willing to offer a law to ban them.  Again, why was she doing this?  Politics and Control.

Mr. Phillips discussed “negotiation” and understanding each other’s core values as a way of resolving this. That is completely naive to say the least.  The gun grabbing politicians are NOT interested in understanding our culture and never have been.  They are not interested in actual solutions that will work, just ramming yet, another law down our throats that will do nothing, but will move us closer to their true goal of total citizen disarmament.  To deny this as their true goal is either duplicitous or naive, take your pick.

What about the negotiation part, well the gun grabbers aren’t interested in that either.  In a true negotiation neither side gets what they really want, but both get something and while it may not be exactly what they were hoping for it will work.  The politicians who propose gun grabs are interested in only a one way street.  We give, they take, nothing more.  The negotiation becomes a “how much can we get away with this time with this law”.  If this was not true then how come the “negotiation” is never about us getting BACK some of our rights that have been taken away in previous laws that were proven to not work and now just hurt law abiding gun owners?  No, it is always how much more can we take this time.  It is never a true negotiation of give and take.  Why?  Again, politics and control.

Speaking as a gun owner I will say I don’t trust any politician who wants to just “discuss” how we can prevent tragedies in the future because for them that isn’t the true goal and we saw that first hand after Newtown, CT.  Many of them were so sure this was their big moment that they fully revealed their true colors.  Confiscation was used for the first time and many admitted it.  They shed their cloaks of “we believe in the 2nd Amendment” they always hide behind and let their true colors show.  Total ban on all civilian owned firearms and confiscation for those that have them now.

The problem gun owners have is we have been burned every time we “negotiate” with these people because they are interested in only one thing…disarmament.  We are always told if we just agree to this one “common sense” bill they will not be back, but that is a lie, they always come back.  There simply is no trust left and never will be.  While I don’t think Mr. Phillips is a bad guy, yet, he is naive and his article show it.

The most horrible atrocities in the 20th and eventually the 21st Century were caused by unchecked dictators who started their reign of terror with gun control first.  Disarm their victims and then murder them because they certainly can’t fight back now.  No thanks, Mr. Phillips.  I am not going in the box car willingly.  As gun owners we are not giving one more inch!

Is Obama a Civil Libertarian?

According to the WSJ Obama has received 46 recommendations from a task force about ways to overhaul the NSA so they aren’t violating every civil liberty we have… just most of them.  If he implements all 46 most Libertarians will congratulate him on a very small, but reasonable start in the right direction.

The Neocons and other freedom hating harpy’s out there will immediately start screaming about how the terrorists will kill all of us if these are implemented and that we will have no security, blah, blah.  Here is a little secret, we don’t have any security now, but in addition we also don’t have much privacy or freedom to go along with it.

Now here is the interesting question to all of you liberals who screamed about how GWB was robbing you of your freedoms; is your great savior of hope and change going to reverse course and give you back freedoms that the evil Bush took away?  I wouldn’t hold your breath.  My bet, he tweaks it around the edges, doesn’t make any real or substantive changes and declares himself great, wonderful, awesome, supreme, god-like…again.

And of course most you liberals will continue to swoon and think he is great and the fact he is still robbing you of your civil liberties won’t matter to you because after all he is your guy so it is OK if he steals your liberties and privacy.

Terrorism vs. War on Terrorism – Which is Worse?

Before 9/11/2001 the vast majority of Americans had never been exposed to any type of terrorism and the concept was vague and not too terribly threatening to most people.  Most believed it was something that happened in distant lands with a lot of sand in them.

Then 9/11 happened and 3,000 Americans died as a direct result.  Suddenly terrorism was real and it was at our back door.  Naturally our fearless government rushed in to provide a solution to the panicked stricken people.

The next question of course is the cure worse than the disease?  In other words are the solutions we put in place worse than the threat of actual terrorist striking the U.S. again?

I argue, yes, they are.  George W. Bush put in the (un)Patroit Act and set up the Department of Homeland Security.  Fast forward 12 years later and we live in a desert when it comes to personal privacy.  Our email, Internet activity, phone calls, mail and a whole host of other avenues are constantly spied upon by the NSA, DEA, IRS, and several other alphabet soup agencies.

We have increasingly more militarized police forces and drones that spy on us from the skies.  The government can come in and spy on your library books you checked out for goodness sakes.  We now have cameras all over cities and on every highway to spy on us walking or driving anywhere.  Have you ever asked where all the data of that video goes or where it is stored or for how long?

Our 4th Amendment has been shredded; police rarely need to even bother getting a warrant any longer.  They just say the magic word “terrorism” and warrants are handed out like candy on Halloween.  The various levels of government can listen in using your own cell phone as a “bug” if they want.  They can use the same phone to track all of your travel, where you have been and who you have met with.

Our Habeaus Corpus has been suspended and Americans can now be locked up without access to a lawyer, courts, evidence, or anything resembling justice.  Many people already know all these things, but how many have considered them in light of the alternative?

We should feel Safe with a capital “S” with all of these “anti-terrorist” measures in place, but yet, we still almost had an explosion in Times Square a few years ago, that only due to a malfunction of the bomb did it not actually go off.  The Boston bombers were able to pull off a terror attack as well.

The bottom line is we are NOT safer today than we were 12 years ago, but we have given up a TON of freedom and we will never get that back.  So ask yourself again, what is worse the threat of terrorism, which is still a clear and present danger or the war on terrorism?

Obama’s Anti-Gun Position Keeps Making Us Stronger

Obama has been trying mightily since his second term to shove gun control down our throats.  He has ALWAYS been truly anti-gun, but during his first term he wisely didn’t move against the 2nd Amendment because he knew that would come back to hurt him at the election, but once he was safely back in office the gloves came off as most us knew they would.

However actual results may vary.  Since December when Obama has been slamming hard on this let’s look at the record of what has been happening…

  1. He has failed to pass any Federal legislation.
  2. The NRA has grown from a little over 4 million members to now over 5 million.
  3. 2 anti-gun politicians in Colorado that supported Obama were blown out of office on a recall vote.
  4. Gun sales have soared to unprecedented levels for 5 straight years now.
  5. Far more states than have clamped down on guns have actually expanded gun freedoms.
  6. Every single gun related item you could have bought a year ago has been sold out and on back order, i.e. ammo, guns, gear, etc.

His record on guns has been pretty dismal.  The reason of course is because this is a civil liberty and Constitutional right and people are done surrendering their freedoms and civil liberties.  Obama is an unprecedented narcissist who has always believed he really could alter the world to his vision simply because he desired it.

I find it hilarious to watch one failure after another on this front and others as well.  Of course it will not alter his course one bit.  Until he is out of office he will be a danger to our civil liberties, but so far the only thing he has accomplished is making us far stronger and more engaged than we were before.  Your opportunity for a sneak attack was ever only a good idea in your narcissistic mind.  We ALWAYS knew who you really were and were simply waiting for you to make your move.

Therefore, I say to Obama, carry on chief.  If you keep at this the NRA will be 8 million members strong before this is over and you will succeed in losing the Senate as well as still not being able to reclaim the House.  If you keep interfering in State elections we will keep sending the anti-gun politicians back to you defeated.  You just don’t understand that the harder you push on this issue the more powerful we will get.

Colorado was your latest move and we handed you your arss… again!  I do believe we just sent you another message.  Think carefully about your next choice.  Its your move…

Modern Day American Statsi Incident

Well, here is yet another of the many police state violations against people who just want to be left alone.  The warrants state that the cops were looking for the old bad guy marijuana again.  That single drug has probably been used for more Constitutional violations than all the others put together.

Of course they didn’t find any as seems to be the case a lot.  This particular raid seems to be based on some “anonymous” source.  Don’t you love all that secrecy these guys get to operate under?

However these people are damn lucky the Stasi didn’t just plant some drugs at the scene and then “find” them for evidence.  Planting evidence is standard operating procedure for most modern day Stasi operations.

See the problem here is that the Stasi come in with their militarized, trigger happy, poorly trained SWAT teams and throw all the residents to the ground, shove guns in their face, handcuff them and once they have “secured” the scene, which is code for making sure none of the intended victims can see them plant err.., I mean, “find” evidence as they search the premises.

They didn’t seem to find any on these premises, which usually means some thug higher up the chain of command didn’t want these people bad enough to stoop to the old planting/tampering with evidence trick.

The Stasi did take a ton of stuff from the group and I doubt they will ever get any of it back, which is another thing the Stasi love doing… civil asset forfeiture, which is where they seize money, guns, computers, and other stuff of value and just keep it.  They don’t have to charge you with any crimes or anything.  They can just say they suspect you of doing something and keep your stuff.  Good luck fighting them to get it back.

The Stasi have of course not apologized and probably never will.  See they can just do these types of Constitutional violations in the name of “The War on Drugs” or “The War of Terror” or some other “war” of some type and violate every Constitutional protection under the sun.  They then cower behind their massive and unyielding bureaucracies and staff lawyers to make it impossible for freedom loving people to fight back.

I know I feel much safer knowing these guys are out there defending me… NOT!

Welcome to life in modern day Amerika.
